Inside the $8.9 Million Dallas Treehouse Estate Modeled After a Nautilus Shell, Complete With a Natatorium
by
A Preston Hollow estate modeled after a nautilus shell is back on the market in Dallas—this time asking $8,875,000.
The property at 5110 Park Lane has been on and off the market since May, when it debuted at $9,999,000.
The residence, a "limestone-and-copper nautilus" by architect Michael Murphy, totals more than 17,000 square feet across the 14,921-square-foot main house and a 2,378-square-foot attached natatorium. The estate is represented by Faisal Halum of Compass RE Texas.

Even in a neighborhood as prestigious as Preston Hollow, where residents have included former President George W. Bush and Mark Cuban, the design of the estate is anything but conventional. Wedge-shaped rooms fan outward from a central elevator, an arrangement meant to give every room a view. With the house set among mature trees, the effect is something like living in a treehouse, suspended in the canopy.
The 1.67-acre lot features rolling terrain, dense foliage, and a creek that winds through the grounds. Warm-toned Lueders limestone, quarried in Texas specifically for the project, carries from the exterior into the interiors, blurring the line between the two.
The primary living quarters occupy the upper level, where buffed concrete floors and Venetian plaster walls are paired with more limestone. Three bedrooms are in the main residence, and a separate guest apartment adds two more. There are five full bathrooms and four half-baths.

The lower level was built for both work and play. It holds office space, media rooms, conference areas, and a workout room, along with the natatorium—where a lap pool features a waterfall lit by fiber optics. The grounds are enclosed by a gated wrought-iron fence, and there is parking for five vehicles.
The property is located close to the shops and restaurants of Highland Park Village and Inwood Village, as well as some of the city’s top private schools.
Dallas Love Field is also nearby, making the home convenient for part-time residents or frequent travelers.
